RefWorks

RefWorks is a reference and citation manager. It is intended for use by individuals who are affiliated with an institution that holds a subscription to the service, as the institution acts as the data controller for personal data provided to ProQuest. The product allows users to store references and documents within their accounts. Key capabilities include password reset functionality, where a user can enter a registered email address to receive a link to regain account access. Additionally, users have the option to permanently remove their account, which would delete all personal data, references, and documents from the system. The service is provided by ProQuest under a contract with the user's institution, and Clarivate is the entity holding the copyright for the platform as of 2026.
