It is designed for scholars and researchers across all fields of science, using AI and engineering to analyze the semantics of scientific papers in order to help users discover relevant research. The platform provides access to a searchable database of over 234 million papers. Key capabilities include a standard paper search function and an API for developers, which now offers improved documentation and increased stability for building scholarly applications. Additionally, Semantic Scholar offers Semantic Reader, an augmented reading tool currently in beta, described as having the potential to make scientific reading more accessible and richly contextual for select papers.
